Timetables!
Starting today all students have access to their timetables for next year by logging into their student portal. Please take a moment to review your schedule for next year to ensure you are happy with what you see. Students who see an OLRN code on their schedule have a scheduled eLearning class. You will have received an email from PRISM confirming which course this is for.
If you wish to speak with a counsellor about your courses for next year, you must make an appointment using the QR code outside the Guidance Office. The link for making an appointment is also on the home page of the TWI Guidance D2L page. This is an extremely busy time for counsellors, so it may take several days before someone is able to meet with you. Thank you in advance for your patience!

Good Morning Twin Lakes…..It is time to recognize our Athletes of the Month for June. These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE! Today we would like to announce June’s winners…..
Congratulations to Cassie Donnelly for Soccer and Kendal Morgan for Slo-pitch.
The Soccer Coaches tell us that “Cassie exemplified true leadership as a cornerstone of the Varsity Girls Soccer Team. Her relentless tenacity on the field created opportunities for younger teammates to find their rhythm and positioning. Cassie’s fearless drive to press forward seamlessly complemented her sharp defensive instincts, making her a dynamic force on both ends of the pitch. Her unwavering commitment—both physically and emotionally—embodied the spirit and pride of a true Twin Lakes Thunderbird.” Way to go Cassie!
The Softball coaches commend “Kendall on being a positive force for the Girls Slo-pitch team. As team captain, she has been the driving force behind getting the team ready for games, and communicating with Coaches and athletes. She helps to calm pitchers that are struggling, give valuable insights to new players and give positive feedback to all players on the field. Kendall is graduating this year, and we will miss her leadership next year on and off the diamond.” Congratulations Kenny!
If you see Cassie or Kendal today...be sure to congratulate them.
Would Cassie, Kendal, Charley and Ethan please report to the gymnasium at the beginning of lunch for a quick photo.
Special congratulations goes out to all athletes who have been recognized as Athletes of the Month. WAY TO GO TWIN!!!

This is another reminder to track and field athletes to return your jersey to one of your coaches...no later than tomorrow.
Yesterday our TLSS girls slo pitch team travelled to Barrie for playoffs. Our opening game against Banting was definitely eventful, with tricky missed tags, awkward home plates, TOYT plays, even a few surprise doubles! The team came so close to catching up in the final inning, but ended up behind Banting 11-10 at game’s end.
Congratulations to everyone on a such a fun season! Special mention to our senior graduating players: Kendal Morgan, Peyton Burnett and Sydney James for their four year involvement with the team. Your awesome energy will be greatly missed next year.
Remember to bring your jersey to the Guidance office for lunch on Thursday for slushies!

Grade 12s!
This is a reminder of your GRAD BREAKFAST and COMMENCEMENT REHEARSAL that will be taking place this coming Wednesday, June 4th Please plan to attend both of these events!
Grad Breakfast Period 1
Along with a hot breakfast, we’ll have activities and visitors to celebrate your graduation from Twin Lakes! It’s a fun casual morning that your Grad Breakfast Committee (Macy Eyre, Annabelle Burton and Brittney Birch) have worked very hard to prepare for you, so please come and enjoy! Also, there’s a “garden party” theme for this event, so if you’re into it, dig out your floral gear and accessories.
Students should go to their period one class to have their attendance taken, and then wait to be called to the caf after morning announcements.
Commencement Rehearsal Period 2
After Grad Breakfast, Ms Prentice will answer all of your questions about Commencement. Students will also hear from the valedictorian candidates and vote for their choice, receive their caps and gowns, and participate in other activities to prepare them for wrapping things up at Twin Lakes.
We really look forward to starting graduation celebrations with you on Wednesday morning! 😊 See you there!
Attention all track and field athletes: Please return your jersey to one of your coaches ASAP.
Good Morning Twin Lakes…..It is time to recognize our Athletes of the Month for May. These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE! Today we would like to announce May’s winners…..
Congratulations to Ethan Haley for baseball and Charlie Loston for Ultimate Frisbee
The Baseball coaches commend "Ethan for his ability to play 2 of the hardest positions on the ball field, and dominate! As a pitcher, he throws strikes and really didn't let opponents reach 1st base this season keeping his E.R.A. low. He is a vacuum when playing shortstop. Anything hit near him was always picked up and thrown for an out. He showed maturity when playing, helped teammates out and was a pleasure to coach. Oh, and he also had about 12 stolen bases in 6 games.” Way to go Ethan!
The frisbee coaches tell us that “Charlie aka Chuckles , was a go to player on the Ultimate Frisbee team. Having played for many years, her skills consistently improved. She acted as one of the handlers, also knows as the quarterback. With her good throws and ability to get open…she was a force on offence. Her quiet leadership, positive attitude and smile will be missed next year!” Congrats Chuckles.
If you see Ethan and Charlie today...be sure to congratulate them.

It's Pride month! The 2SLGBTQIA+ community and others use Pride Month to raise awareness about the discrimination they’ve faced in the past and present. The month of June was chosen to honour the 1969 Stonewall Riots in New York City, a time in which people were being wrongly jailed and persecuted for their sexual and gender identities.
The Stonewall uprising started Pride Month, the Stonewall uprising began on June 28, 1969. Later in 1970, the first Gay Pride Liberation March took place in Manhattan to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. In Canada, the first 2SLGBTQI+ fight for equal rights started in 1971 in Ottawa and Vancouver. Over time, more communities have celebrated Pride. In 1999, 30 years after the Stonewall Riots, Pride Month became an official celebration. Tomorrow there will be free buttons in the cafe! Hope to see you there!

Pride Month is a time to celebrate 2SLGBTQIA+ identity, culture, and achievements. It provides a platform for the community to come together and express their pride. Pride Month also serves as a reminder of the ongoing need for 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and equality. Many events and activities during the month are dedicated to advocating for legal protections and social change. Pride Month is an opportunity to educate the public about 2SLGBTQIA+ history, issues, and experiences. It helps to foster understanding and inclusivity. Celebrate Pride with us this week at Twin.

In a time where we’re seeing significant pushback against the rights of individuals to live and identify in a way that is authentic for them, look around the communities that you belong to – school, town, and others – and identify ways that you can help ensure that people feel safe, welcome and valued. These could include supporting your school’s GSA/Pride Club in activities that they’re running, supporting people that may be actively experiencing homo-, bi- and transphobia, and letting those around you know that you are an ally and are committed to helping people feel safe, valued, and heard.

Congratulations to Josh May for Hockey and Isaac Martynyshyn for Badminton.
The hockey coaches tell us that despite being only in Grade 10, Josh May demonstrated exceptional leadership by captaining both the Varsity Boys Hockey team and the Jr. Thunderbirds to victory in the North Simcoe Cup and the St. Theresa's Hockey Championships—a historic first for the hockey program.
Josh was truly a tour de force on the ice, leading Thunderbird Hockey with unmatched skill in the offensive zone. His smooth, dynamic, and electrifying style left opponents speechless, showcasing his remarkable hockey intelligence. Congratulations, Josh!

Isaac has worked hard on his foot speed and tactical placement of the shuttlecock. Furthermore, Isaac participated in the school league, competed in the Nouvelle Team Badminton Tournament, finished 2nd at SCAAs and was crowned champion at GBs! Your badminton future looks bright! Way to go Isaac!

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY
Good Morning Twin Lakes…..It is that time of month to recognise our Athletes of the Month for February. These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE!. Today we would like to announce February's winners…..
Congratulations the dynamic brother sister duo… Trent Sweet for Wrestling and Max King for basketball.
The wrestling coaches commend Trent again for a fantastic year wrestling for Twin. He has always been a great kid for me. Always upbeat and in a good mood, always respectful to me, other coaches, his opponents, referee's and mostly to his other team mates. He almost never misses a practice, he works hard at practice for himself, and is always to help show moves or give his advise from his wealth of experience to the younger wrestlers. He has definitely taken a leadership role and mentoring role in respect to the rest of the team. Trent had a perfect season wresting for Twin within the GBSSA association. His only loss this year came in his final match at OFSAA which gave him the silver medal. Trent wrestled hard but unfortunately could not come out on top. We are so proud of your wrestling career at Twin Lakes! Way to go Trent!
Coach Bell and Corry would like to congratulate Max on being on of the athletes of the month for February. During tryouts Max put in a great effort but was lacking in some of the skill sets needed to break through to make the team. However, the hard work and effort put forwarded earned him the ability to become a red shirt which meant that he would to train with the team to improve on his skill sets. With is dedication to improvement Max earned a Jersey by mid season and had his first bit of floor time in a high school basketball game. He seemed to double down on his efforts and continued to improve his skills, became a better defender, which earned him more playing time game after game. By the end of the season Max was pushing for the 6th spot an had become the first player off the bench in big game situations. His ability to take feedback and apply it has helped him to make significant improvements during one season of basketball. During the GBSSA championship tournament we had one of our starters go down and needed someone to step up to a starting position for the championship game. The daily effort and hard work that Max has put in and his ability to defend earned him the start in the GBSSA championship game. Max was one of the major contributors to your jr boys to becoming the GBSSA champions. From red shirt to contributor to starter in a championship game is a climb most players coaches and players won't see in a life time of sport. Max should be proud of himself for achieving a monumental climb.
If you see Trent or Max today...be sure to congratulate them on their amazing accomplishments.
Would both student athletes please report to the gymnasium at the beginning of lunch for a quick photo.
Consider going out for our Spring Sports that are gearing up for more amazing results, adventures and memories. GO TWIN!!!
Mr Donaldson would like to thank all of the wrestlers that competed this year for Twin. It was a great year. We had a lot of success as a team, and coach Jeff and I are proud of all of the hard work and dedication from everyone all year.
A special congratulations to the wrestlers that recently competed at OFSAA.
Quinn Belford
Aaliyah Boxall
Erica Cleaveley
Cohen Sweet
And Trent Sweet
This is the premier wrestling tournament of the elite wrestlers from across the province. You all fought hard and represented Twin with pride, integrity and amazing strength.
A special shout out and congratulations go out to Trent Sweet.
From a very strong and full 32 person draw, Trent made it to the finals, and wrestled an amazing bout. Trent did make it to the podium and came in second place in Ontario.
Fantastic job everyone.

Yesterday after school your senior girls volleyball team fought hard against Notty Pines for the SCAA title. After an extremely back and forth battle, the girls lost in the fourth set ultimately placing second. Our player of the game goes out to Nicole Cator, our middle, who had some wicked blocks and rocket serves throughout all four sets. Please wish your girls luck in the GBSSA semifinals today vs st Joe's at 9am!
This is an announcement for the cast of Cinderella. There have been some rehearsals added for this week and next week. Please check the Google Classroom regularly for details. See Ms. Holdsworth if you have any questions.
If you like epic comebacks, grit, determination, blood, sweat, tears and edge of you seat action you should have been in the thunderdome last night. Your Jr. Girls Volleyball team faced off against Georgian Bay District Secondary School for the SCAA championship last night. The girls started the match off strong with, solid serves, great passes, crafty veteran moves by setter Sophie Gough and thunderous hits from Lily Nancekieviill which led the Thunderbirds to a 2 game lead. The third set was a back-and-forth affair, excellent defense from Selema Bauman and dominate play up the middle from Lila Bolden Bruce wasn't enough to secure the victory as GBDSS managed to stay alive.
The third set victory revitalized GBDSS and they started rolling. Twin Lakes couldn't get there feet going and lost their rhythm dropping the 4th set. Twin needed to dig deep and it all started with bench being loud, calling balls, keeping the energy up and being a 7th player on the court. Down the stretch rookie Emma Williamson stepped up with key digs and crucial hits. Devastating serves from Avery Bell brought the team within one point of victory.
There is an adage in sports that the last point is always the hardest to get. On the cusp of victory the nerves started to show and GBDSS started to score some points. Some players in pressure situations just try to hold on, others decide to go out and put the game to bed. That is what Violet Springstead did, she went up strong, swung hard and was too much for the GBDSS block to handle, burying the ball to bring the SCAA championship to Twin Lakes.
Today both the Jr and Sr Girls Volleyball team will compete in the GBSSA championships right here in the Thunderdome. Seniors play at 9 am and the Jr's will play at 12 pm. Come on down and cheer them on.
Last night your Junior boys basketball team faced off against rival GBD for the SCAA championship. With no practices, issues with the gym & GBD coming off a massive win against Notty pines; the boys were prepared for an up hill battle.
Fortunately for Twin, they were ready.
GBD could not stop twin from scoring in transition nor could they stop Caden McFee who dropped a record setting 20 points in the first quarter. Despite push back in the 2nd quarter, Twin stood their ground. In the 2nd half Twin lakes defense led by Takoda Plett & Hayden Vuong was unmatched as they held GBD to only 6 points.
Thus, in the end, your Junior boys basketball team won the SCAA finals by convincing fashion. Congrats boys!
Off to GBs on Monday.

Grade 12s who have applied to university or college – Important announcement!
Last week semester one final marks and scheduled courses for semester two were uploaded to OUAC (the university application centre) and OCAS (the college application centre). Please log into your accounts to ensure that everything is accurate. There are rarely errors, but we have had a few issues in the past, particularly with eLearning or night school courses. If you notice anything is inaccurate or missing, please let Ms.McCullough or Ms. Racco know asap.
Did you know there is a direct correlation between physical activity and academics? It’s true, the more you move, the more learn. Proof of this are the students recognized on the plaque outside of the main gyms who participated in sports first semester and who achieved honour roll status of an above 80% average in their respective courses.
Congratulation to all student athletes for their amazing academic and athletic achievements here at Twin. Keep up the great work and GO TWIN!
Student Athletes please check the plaque to ensure accuracy and see a physical education teacher if we have missed something.
Due to the snow banks lining the school driveway and parking lots school buses might not be lined up in the order you are used to after school.

Good Morning Twin Lakes…..It is that time of month to recognise our Athletes of the Month for January and the winners are…Caden McFee for Basketball and Sophie Gough for Volleyball.
The basketball coaches would like to congratulate Caden McFee on being selected as January’s Athlete of the month. Caden was absolutely dominant in our regular season wins, particularly playing through pain against rival GBD. Furthermore, Caden was an unstoppable force in January as he led the Junior Boys basketball team in scoring over the top seeded team in the Hamilton area tournament in mid January. Caden's determination, skill, toughness and physicality was amazing in January and all season long he helped propel Twin to an undefeated season. Congrats Caden!
The volleyball coaches mention that In the junior Elmvale Tournament in November, Sophie helped carry the team into the playoffs and gold medal game with her enthusiasm and great playing. As team captain, she is always encouraging, always ready to play or practice and always a pleasure to be around. She is pivotal to the success of the junior girls team. While she may seem sweet and all smiles off the court, do not let this fool you. Sophie is a fierce competitor on the court running the Twin Lakes volleyball offence. Her left handed jump serves, amazing sets and of course, her favourite shot - the setter dump - are all part of what makes her so special. She was even pulled up to help for a Sr. Girls Volleyball tournament and she took on the role of starting setter, as the Sr. setter was sick. Sophie raised to the challenge and helped the Sr. Girls Team placed 2nd at the Huntsville High Tournament. Congrats Sophie!
If you see Caden or Sophie today; be sure to congratulate them.
Would both student athletes please report to the gymnasium at the beginning of lunch for a quick photo.
Best of luck to our winter teams as they head into play-offs. GO TWIN!!!

Good Morning Twin Lakes…..Athletic Council and Sport Coaches will be recognizing 1 to 2 athletes each month. These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE!. Today we would like to announce the Athletes of the Month for December…YES December; we are a little behind due to snow days.
Congratulations to our winners ...Gunner Wolf for boys hockey and Reed Bowman for junior boys basketball.
The hockey coaches mention that Gunner, a grade ten goalie for the Varsity Boys' Hockey Team, dazzled as the tournament MVP in the inaugural North Simcoe Cup! His relentless tenacity, fearless audacity, and razor-sharp hockey instincts propelled Twin Lakes to victory, clinching the prestigious championship. Gunner's flawless performance in stopping every penalty shot electrified the crowd, as the Thunderbirds—staff and students alike—erupted in cheers, celebrating this unforgettable sporting triumph.
The JR boys basketball coach’s would like to congratulate Reed for earning the athlete of the month in December shout out. They mention that Reed has dedicated himself to improving his skill sets and consistently looks for feedback to improve. In the month of December at the Orillia Blackball Classic (one of the biggest venues to showcase talent), Reed was tasked with defending one of the best JR players in the region. With grit and determination, Reed was able to keep his opponents scoring to a minimum in a valiant display of defensive tenacity. Reed is a player who will take a challenge head on and is one of the reasons our team has been successful so far this season.
When you see Gunner or Reed today, be sure to congratulate them.
Would both student athletes please report to the gymnasium at the start of lunch for a quick photo.

A huge congratulations goes out to our senior girls volleyball team on winning their game last night against Nouvelle 3-0. Our player of the game goes out to Macy Eyre who dominated the court with her beautiful setting and passing. Your coaches are very proud! Good work ladies!!!!! Wooohoooo!
The Junior Girls Volleyball team travelled to Georgian Bay on Monday for their 2nd tournament of the season and boy was it a good one!!
The team finished in third place after pool play and faced the Le Caron Dragons in the afternoon cross-over match. The girls won the match with a decisive 2-0 victory. Next up were the host team’s “A” squad. With some of the best volleyball played all season, your Thunderbirds won the semi-final match in a nail biting thrilling 3 set victory!!!! Onto the finals…
Sadly, our fairy tale run ends here. The junior girls lost to a very strong Maple Ridge team and took home 2nd place. However, all the players played fantastic throughout the day and a solid foundation has been set for future tournaments and regular season play.
Coach Kerr, Coach Kho the Taller and Coach Kho the Not-So-Tall are immensely proud of this team!!! Go Twin!!!!
Last night the Jr Girls took to the court again to face Nouvelle Alliance. The girls came out strong and took the first two sets and looked to be cruising to victory, however Nouvelle Alliance had other plans. The next two sets were close the whole time, Twin Lakes battled hard, and played great team volleyball but the bounces didn't go their way and Nouvelle forced a decisive 5th set. After a brief prep talk from none other than Santa Claus himself, the team went out and continued to play hard and play fearlessly. Not hesitating to go after the ball and not being afraid to make big hits were the difference with the ladies bringing home the victory. Congratulations girls.

Today is the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which honours the memories of transgender people who lost their lives due to anti-transgender violence. It was started in 1999 by transgender advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smit as a vigil to honour the memory of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was killed in 1998. Trans Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. It is vital we remember those who have been lost. Today, we plan to create safe spaces, promote inclusivity, educate everyone in our school about 2SLGBTQ+ issues, and ensure no student ever feels invisible, unheard, or unsafe again. Everyone is invited to GSA on Mondays at lunch in room 310.

Let's give a massive round of applause to our Senior Boys Volleyball team for an incredible season. Though the SCAA Final game last night didn't end in our favor, the effort, determination, and sportsmanship shown by our players were nothing short of exceptional.
Each player showcased true grit and teamwork, making this season one to remember. A special thanks to our graduating players Owen, Trent, Brody, Ethan & Zach for your commitment to the program.
Here's to celebrating the highs and learning from the lows. Coaches Corry, Bell & Wick are immensely proud of every single one of you!
Yesterday the Jr Boys Volleyball team faced off against Notty Pines for the SCAA championship. Notty Pines managed to defeat your Thunderbirds in three sets. Each set came down to only a few points differential but alas the bounces just didn't go Twin Lakes way. Coaches Kho, Bell and Kerr couldn't be more proud of how hard the boys worked all season long and how hard they fought in the final. It was an honour to coach this team and regardless of the outcome the Thunderbirds displayed the heart of champions. Take a few days of boys and then we can start training for next year.
Happy Friday!! We would like to thank everyone who visited us this week in the cafeteria, it has been great meeting all of you! Join us in the cafe for our Fall Fusion specials featuring Cheese Tortellini with Autumn Vegetable, Apple Pumpkin Loaf and Pumpkin Spice Muffins. Don’t forget to check out our selection of fresh salads, wraps, snack boxes and so much more. We hope to see you soon!!

On Friday your Sr boys volleyball team travelled to St Catherine’s to the number one volleyball tournament in the province at Eden high.
Coming in as the bottom seed and atarting off against a team who has won AAA OFSSA several times, your TBirds took one a set off of Eden high as they also won over the school cheerleaders.
Big shout outs go to Brody Frankum for his energy, our co-captains Trent Sweet and Owen Davey for great play and their leadership, and to our player of the tournament Zachary Kingsbury. All boys showed great perseverance, tying for 7th out of 20 AAA teams. Way to go Tbirds!
Last Friday, the junior boys' volleyball team travelled down to Brampton for their final tournament of the season. The boys battled through the round robin portion of the tournament, at a perfect 6 and 0. Earning the #1 seed, the boys made quick work of the #8 seed to move onto the semi-finals. In the Semi's, the boys battled the home team, Fletchers Meadows. The team came out slow, dropping the first set of the game. Earning back their redemption, they won the second set 25-9, forcing a third and final game. After jumping out to a quick lead, the boys had a lapse in judgement, falling behind once again. With their backs against the wall, down 14-9, Tanner Greenwood went to the service line with the tournament being at risk. Continuing to claw back, the boys tied up the game. Ultimately proving that they were the better team, they won a nailbiter of a third set, 17-15 to move onto the finals.
In the finals, the boys continued to dominate, winning in 2 sets.
A large congratulations goes out to the junior boys on their second tournament win this season.
The boys will continue to practice this week, for their upcoming battle against Notty Pines.

Hey Twin, let's take a moment to talk about socks. As small as they might seem in our daily life, they're more important than you may think. Hey Twin, yesterday your senior boys volleyball team hosted and participated in a big tournament in our gym. Down one of our best players the boys tried to scrape their way into the playoffs. Defeating OSS in the quarterfinals they went on and played top seeded st Teresas in the semifinals and managed to win in three sets. Now onto the finals where our boys faced up against last years triple GB champs big bear Creek from Barrie. With Jake and Ethan's blocking, and Nate dawg stepping in off the bench to cover for Zach's absence the boys pushed it to a 3rd and final set. No one could stop the tournament MVP, Will the thrill Kho, who is jumping through the air looking like a mythical kangaroo, who helped propel Twin to win the gold medal game 16-14 in the final set.
Thanks to all the volunteers and Ms Weick for being our rockstar convenor. Gooo Twin!

Junior Boys Volleyball
Last night the junior boys' volleyball team travelled to Nottawasaga Pines to play our 5th league game. The boy's came out slow, falling behind 2 sets to none. To begin the third set, the boys began to wake up and realize they actually enjoyed playing volleyball. At this point, they began to claw themselves back into the match, winning the third set. Carrying that momentum forwards, the boys were able to dominate in the fourth set and force a fifth and final set. After jumping out to a slight lead, the boys ultimately fell short, losing a close 5th set by a final score of 16-14. A shoutout goes to Takota Plett and Kieran Kerr for their dominant blocking ability on the net, Reid Bowman for his monster spikes, and Callum Mieshke for his libero skills.
Hey Twin, is there something or someone in your life who you really appreciate? Well, tomorrow is I am Grateful For Day! Come down to the Cafe at lunch to write what you are grateful for on a leaf and write on your name on a ballot for our prize draw. Let's make a whole wall of gratitude!
Athlete of the Month SEPTEMBER
Good Morning Twin Lakes…..Athletic Council and Sport Coaches will be recognizing 1 to 2 athletes each month. These athletes may possess leadership qualities, next level play, ability to see the game, show determination or are just incredibly COACHABLE!. Today we would like to announce the Athletes of the Month for September…..Drumroll please:
Congratulations to our Athletes of the Month for September...Owen Davey for Volleyball and Stiina Recknagel for Cross Country Running.
The Volleyball coaches commend Owen Davey for have recently been appointed captain and for anchoring the offense of the senior boys volleyball team this September with his consistent serving and attacking. He has been improving each game and applying feedback like a true veteran. Owen had a near perfect game last week against GBD both serving and in his kill percentage. He is a large reason that the senior boys volleyball team has gelled so quickly and why they are 4-0. Keep leading and crushing!
The Cross Country running coaches mention that Stiina Recknagel is a very dedicated runner attending 3-5 practices a week. She placed in the top ten in a competitive Sr. Girls category in the first two races of the season. Extremely friendly and supportive of her teammates. Keep up the great work and miles!
"Are you a first nation, metis or inuit student that is interested in participating in a traditional birch bark canoe making trip? Please see Mr.Roy or Ms.Diamond in room 220 for more detail! reminder registration forms are due Tuesday, Oct.15th!

Junior Boys Volleyball
On Friday the Jr Boys Volleyball team travelled to Uxbridge to compete in a tournament featuring some of the top teams in the area. The boys battle hard in pool play but found themselves needing a sweep in their final game against the first place team in the pool just to advanced to the consolation playoffs. After winning the first set 25-21 they decided to leave nothing in doubt with a 25-14 victory to make the consolation semis finals. In the consolation semis final the thunderbirds faced of against notty pines, after losing the first set the boys dug deep, showed resilience and persistence to win the next two and send Notty Pines home. In the consolation final the boys faced a triple A team from Pickering, they were getting tired after a long day so they decide to win in two straight sets to take home the consolation championships. Congratulations to all the players and also to Reed Bowman for being named team tournament MVP.
For practice tonight the boys are asked to get changed and meet in room 312 at 3:30 for a brief film session.
Girls Blackball Basketball
This past weekend, the 3 Orillia High Schools hosted the annual Girls Blackball basketball tournament and teams from all over Ontario came to play. Your junior girls team tipped-off the tournament against St. Mary’s from Sault St Marie at 1 on Friday in a packed Thunderdome! The energy was electric and both teams were ready for battle. Have no fear your team was stronger and was up by 6 at the half and didn’t look back! Next up Frontenac, the home of Aliah Edwards and located in Kingston. This basketball program puts them in the finals each year and unfortunately we were no match Friday night even though we fought with blood sweat and tears. Frontenac grabbed the win. This put Twin in the semi-finals Saturday morning with the top team in the other pool play; Korah from Sault St Marie. Great news…the team ate breakfast and were off to the races upon tip-off. The team fought hard and won the match putting them in the Blackball Championship game and a first ever finals for a girls team at Twin. It is really hard to play 4 hard games and unfortunately there was not enough gas in the tank. The girls should hold their heads up high for their Finalist finish, their gritty play and their improvement in just 4 games. Well done T-Birds! Rest up tonight, practice resumes Tuesday after school. A special thank you goes out to Ms. Weick, Emerson Hoffman, Brendan Irwin, Andrew Dilwari and Gabe Vessey for their help score keeping and running the tournament…we could not do it without! Way to go TWIN!
GSA will take place today at lunch in room 310. If you are 2SLGBTQ plus or an ally to the community, feel to come hangout make bracelets and have some snacks. See you at lunch!

Jr. Boys Volleyball
Congratulations goes out to the junior boys' volleyball team last night for their victory against GBDSS.
Although the boys started slow, they were able to dominate the game from the service line, which ultimately became a common theme throughout the game. The boys battled adversity and were able to complete the sweep, winning all three sets in close fashion. The boys were able to keep their winning streak alive, and look to keep up their success in their upcoming tournament on friday.
Senior Boys Volleyball
Yesterday your senior boys volleyball team travelled to midland to play rival GBD.
This game was the first complete match this season for the thunderbirds as they dominated GBD from start to finish. They had no answer for Trent's setting, Jake serving & Zachs attacking.
But most impressively was the performance of player of the game Owen 'big dawg' Davey.
Owen went 10 for 10 serving with 5 aces, he had an over 95% kill ratio on offence and he managed to win over the GBD fans in more ways than one. Congrats boys on maintaining a perfect record boys!

Last Thursday the Jr Boys Volleyball team faced LeCaron right here in the Thunderdome. LeCaron started strong but Twin weathered the storm, chipped away at the lead and came back to win the first set 25-23. At this point, since the senior game was an epic 5 set win, it was getting late and it was past Kieran Kerr and Callum Mieschkie's bedtimes so they had to leave. For most teams losing the starting setter and the starting libero in the middle of a close match would have caused problems, but not for your thunderbirds. Kale Cherubin stepped in to set for the first time and delivered quality balls for the boys to crush. Cameron Sauve in his first volleyball game was a defensive juggernaught passing dimes. Needless to say the Thunderbirds rolled to a 3 set victory.
Students' Council will be meeting today at lunch in room 322. Come with your ideas for fall celebration days. See you there!

Senior Boys Volleyball
Hey Twin,
Last Thursday your Senior Boys Volleyball Team took on Le Caron in league action. Unfortunately, the boys went down 2 sets early and things were looking grimm.
However, the boys managed to battle back in sets 3 and 4 thanks to sneaky plays in the middle by Ethan Haley, big serves from Trent Sweet and big kills by Zach Kingsbury. Now on to a 5th and final set, the Senior Boys team found themselves down 8 to 13 in a desperate race to 15. Then in comes Brody Frankum-Tait in his first ever high school volleyball of his life. Brody served, not one, not two, but 7 serves in a row to win the match in Disney like fashion and boys carried him away like Rudy Rudiger at Notre Dame and Brody was crowned the most unlikely player of the game in Twin history.
Congrats boys on going 3 and 0 and staying undefeated.
Back in action tomorrow in Midland. Let's go T-Birds!

Jr. Boys Volleyball
The Jr Boys Volleyball team started the season on the road versus
Nouvelle Alliance. The match was a bit lopsided right from the warm up. With
strong passes from Callum Mieschke and great sets from Kieran Kerr, Nouvelle
Alliance had no idea which Thunderbird was going to hammer the ball down. I
believe the fat lady started singing near the end of the first set when Caden
McFee came off the bench, got his first in game set ever and absolutely buried
in the middle of Nouvelle's court. Strong leadership and communication from JJ
Kho helped the boys cruise to a three-set victory. Fans get ready to bring the
noise for our home opener next Tuesday starting right after school.
